Creative lighting solutions in Davos
The 23rd European Lighting Congress took place in the Congress Centre in Davos from 09 - 12 September. RIBAG exhibited as an innovative luminaire manufacturer and presented a selection of creative lighting solutions to an enthusiastic professional audience. In addition to the first public presentation of VIOR, the Draft & Craft Collection, AROA and VERTICO, also released this year, were staged.
The lighting solutions presented at the Architect@Work fair in Copenhagen displayed our expertise in both, individual and project spaces. The new ARVA Draft & Craft Collection can be customized to one’s own interior design thanks to new shades in leather and wood.
The unique and innovative exhibition layout of ARCHITECT@WORK ensured the optimal contact between exhibitors and visitors. The around 200 guests on the booth, mainly Architects, Interior architects, Designers, Shopfitters, Engineers, Urban planners and Property developers were delighted by the presented solutions. Together with our partner Ellis Ellis, we are happily looking forward to be lighting partner in diverse projects in Denmark.
Draft & Craft@Milan Design Week
RIBAG presented new lighting solutions in the Swiss Design District in Via Tortona 31 as part of the Salone del Mobile in Milano and, in doing so, skilfully attracted attention to Swiss design. The new ARVA Draft & Craft collection enables individualized lighting solutions and personal coordination with one’s own interior design. Together with the new AROAR standard lamp and the custom AROA chandelier, the new collection was particularly popular and frequently photographed. With a focus on customization, RIBAG displayed their design expertise. The new lighting solutions will be available from June or produced individually upon request.
With approximately 150,000 visitors to the Swiss Design District alone, the Milano Design Week is one of the most important international contact networks for the lighting and furniture industry. This renown trade show brings hundreds of thousands of excited visitors to Milan year after year.
Frankfurt "Art of Light"
The RIBAG Art of Light event took place at Light & Building on 18 March 2018. Over 200 trade visitors, press, and interested parties streamed into the Berhard Knaus gallery and admired the world début of VIOR, a very special lamp that combines the advantages of a downlight with an uplight. The lamp, developed in cooperation with the light laboratory Bartenbach, was presented in a wooden cube that demonstrated the light distribution especially well. An additional highlight was the staging of the customisable Draft & Craft Collection based on the ARVA lens pendant lamp. The pendant lamp is refined with wood and leather trim and was produced in cooperation with Intertime and Girsberger, mainly by hand. The individual materialisation allows the lamps to be perfectly matched to individual interior design. The new AROA standard lamp continues the ‘shining light’ series and earned its place in front of a special work of art at Gallery Bernhard Knaus with its simple elegance and impressive light output. The custom-made AROA, the pearl green chandelier, shows the competency in the individual construction of special customer requests. The new products shown will be realised over the course of this year. As part of the lighting event, DJane Simoné provided hot beats, and culinary treats and drinks entertained guests until midnight.
Around 100,000 visitors flocked to Swissbau in Basel. As an exhibitor, RIBAG was able to showcase itself beautifully and delight the visitors with innovative lighting solutions. Visitors were wowed by various new products at RIBAG’s stand at Swissbau. The new filigree AROA lighting range was the subject of particularly high praise. In various existing lamps, RIBAG also presented several prototypes for the first time, such as the AROA standard lamp and a MESH standard lamp. “A standard lamp offers a lighting solution that integrates perfectly or shows great versatility in different architectural scenarios. The most impressive quality of the MESH example is its combination of excellent quality of light with its filigree and unmistakable shape”, remarks Andreas Richner, CEO, on the new developments. A particular highlight were the projects from the Design Studio. RIBAG presented possible new use of materials for the first time, such as different anodised variants in the new AROA as well as VERTICO pendant lamps. Special emphasis was given to the regional collaboration with the two companies from Aargau: Intertime and .wogg. Using Intertime’s skilled leather workmanship, RIBAG has created ARVA lamps in different leather finishes. In keeping with the furniture on the exhibition stand, ARVA shades were displayed in .wogg colours. “We look forward to realising special requests from architects and builders in the future. With the use of new materials, a specific and suitable living environment can be created through furniture and light”, continues Andreas Richner. Through the use of these new materials, RIBAG has opened the door into the residential sector and is expanding its skills and collaborations further. Part of the Swiss lighting manufacturer’s presentation also contained a project from its young talent development programme. RIBAG has been assisting students from the University of Applied Sciences of Northwestern Switzerland with its expertise and technical support for several years now. The students on the Industrial Design degree programme designed the “mobile light” for RIBAG as part of the current project POETRY OF LIGHT. Three projects from young designers were presented and exhibited at the stand. The various lamp displays were not just found at RIBAG’s stand. Design Preis Schweiz exhibited the VERTICO pendant lamp with its various material finishes and the entire Food-Corner on the lower floor was fitted with RIBAG lamps: Showcases of ARVAs, the MESH special edition, VERTICOs and two AROA displays provided perfect ambient lighting for diners. The kitchen company Wesco designed the entire bar lighting with VERTICO, the enterprise Schneider exhibited a mirror cabinet with METRON , digitalSTROM displayed recessed LUNIK lamps and the bar of the Innovation Lab was fitted with VERTICO pendant lamps and VERTICO mounted spotlights. Visitors could experience first hand the extent of RIBAG’s amazing versatility, not just as a lighting manufacturer, but also as a lighting designer, partner for lighting concepts and project supervisor. A successful appearance with a personal touch from the family business.
3 MAL 3
On October 30th, 2017, RIBAG opened its doors for the event 3 MAL 3, in cooperation with acousticpearls® and Zoom byMobimex at the RIBAG headquarters in Safenwil. The three companies respectively presented three solutions in the areas of light, acoustics and furniture in offices and properties. In combination with lighting solutions from RIBAG, acousticpearls® presented acoustic furnishing solutions for room planning with inspiring application possibilities and Zoom by Mobimex exhibited high-quality solid wood furniture for the office and living area.
The 200 or so visitors who attended, mainly architects, project planners and lighting specialists, particularly appreciated the selected combination of atmospherically staged lamps, furniture and acoustic solutions. Visitors were able to experience real settings in the staged scenarios, from a simulated conference situation to a head office or meeting room. The new AROA lighting range was showcased in the different room installations with its clear expressive contours, illustrating the versatility of its possible uses.
Visitors, including the designer of the first RIBAG lamp Erwin Egli and the designer Daniel Kübler who has designed various lighting ranges for RIBAG, were free to explore the entire building. This allowed guests to watch the assembly process up close and see how RIBAG lamps are constructed by hand. In the spacious storage area they were also given the opportunity to marvel at the company’s special editions including lamps with warm leather panels and alternative metallic colours. "I really like the new sense of comfort RIBAG has been able to create through the use of different materials", raves Daniel Kübler, who, among other things, designed the MESH lighting range.
The relaxed casual atmosphere continued throughout the evening, enhanced by the gentle melodies played by Daniel Zehnder on the grand piano.
